A long time chef friend from Fullerton hotel

Knowing chef Allen at Fullerton Hotel was when our friendship started. He is someone who is strongly passionate of his work. He has shared countless of time with me about creating his own pairing menu. Soon after, his dream came true at One Place Bistro when he is able to experiment freely and let his creative juices run wild. His dedication kept him going and finally achieved what he pursued. I got to taste his pairing menu since I heard from him, hands down to this young fellow, the food and wine combination were impressive, each dish was perfectly matched. Watch the video and you will find out how much effort is put in to produce such tantalizing dishes and what kind of food goes well with what type of wine? It's always easy to indulge but not easy to whip up a good dish that you want to eat it again.

Capellini Chilli Crab: Brooklyn Craft Beer

Singapore Blogger
A refreshing beer that is fruity tasting with hints of floral scents. There is a slight bitterness that contrasts well with the sweet and spicy gravy of the chilli crab pasta. A combination that truly excites the taste buds.

Pan Seared Salmon: Buronga Hills (Sauvignon Blanc)

Singapore Blogger
Our Variation of this dish invloves using a basic technique but yet adding robust flavors to it. The Buronga Hills Sauvignon Blanc is perfect for this dish as it is packed full of vibrant passionfruits, gooseberries and citrus characters for a light and refreshing pairing.

Red Wine Braised Beef Cheeks: Buronga Hills (Cabernet Sauvignon)

Singapore Blogger
A full bodied red wine for a rustic tasting dish. We chose the Buronga Hills Cabernet Sauvignon; A wine bursting with rich berry fruit flavors which is balanced and long lingering, perfect for the flavorful & soft melting braised beef cheeks.

Stuffed Chicken Roulard: One Place's Martini

Singapore Blogger
This dish may seem ordinary, but it is packed full of surprises. That is why we paired it with our Signature Martini; A drink that feels light and fruity, but yet not to be underestimated.

A team of dedicated chefs at Royz Et Vous # #lifestyle blogger

Have you ever wonder how much effort a chef puts in to produce those delicious food that are served to you? After many rounds of testing, adjustments and experiments, that final plate of pasta might be a 50th time end product.

As a foodie, I knew it is not easy to prepare a good dish, the process is long and you must have the patience, that is why I was filled with a sense of gratitude when I spoke to the chefs. Royz Et Vous is a halal-western cafe which has a great team spirit that impressed me. Unlike others, they work like a close family to produce such delectable menu with a touch of creativity.

The Herb Crusted Salmon is a genius! The salmon is still moist but crispy on the outside, served with fresh mango sauce by the side, it is a magical combination of sweet and salty. I always believed that a good dish does not need much marination or seasoning, using natural ingredients to enhance the original flavour is the way to go.

Creamy sauce can be too "gelat". I would usually go for aglio olio or tomato based pasta. However the Prawns and Crayfish pasta is different. The chef added chillies to create a spicy kick which makes it more appetizing. After indulge, I have changed my impression on trying other creamy items.

How can I miss the coffee here! Royz Et Vous specialise in coffee. People who know me well would know that I only drink flat white so I am quite particular about the taste. I often patronize here as it meets my expectation of what I considered a worthy flat white. It is thick, smooth and carries a light milk fragrance that is just right to my palate.

Tonkatsu Specialist only at ION Orchard #Singapore Blogger

Who doesn't like thick, juicy and tender Tonkatsu (breaded, deep fried pork cutlet)? There are so many different versions of it that you can find in Singapore but I must say Ginza Bairin at ION Orchard is truly the Tonkatsu specialist who lived up to it's name. There is a reason why the brand has been around for more than 80 years. Ginza Bairin has five important components that makes a perfect Tonkatsu meal. Using pearl white Japanese rice, cottonseed oil, raw bread crumbs, signature home-made sauce since 1927 and premium meat. Who can withstand this delicious delicacy?

Out of the wide selections of dishes, I was first introduced to the Special Pork Katsu-don that was awarded as the Number One Katsu-don in Japan. I had high expectation of it when I knew it was claimed as the champion, definitely not easy to get this title. The moment it was served to my table I could not wait anymore and had to take my first bite immediately. It is so tasty! The flavour and juciness of the pork totally blew me away. Everything is just perfect. It is so good that I finished up without leaving a single grain of rice behind.

As they are famous for their pork I was also invited to try another signature dish which is the Iberian Pork Loin Katsu. The Tonkatsu's thickness is amazing. It is prepared to a  standard thickness of 1.8cm which you will never find anywhere else. Using raw bread crumbs, it is fried to a beautiful golden brown that has a crispy texture, succulent and luscious. Drizzle with the home-made unique sauce that was passed down for three generations, what more can I ask for?
