Dining with Nature at Long Jiang Chinos # Singapore Blogger

There are not many places in Singapore where you can dine at a scenic environment surrounded by nature. I was actually quite pleased when I had the opportunity to be away from the hustle and bustle for a moment of quietness and to do what I enjoy.

Long Jiang Chinos is just the right place to relax my mind. Talking about the menu, it comes with a wide spread of tantalising traditional and modern Chinese food specialising in fresh seafood dishes. definitely a wise choice to spend your day here.

The steamed razor bamboo clam is unlike the usual razor bamboo, it is steamed with French black garlic sauce instead of the normal garlic seasoning. The original taste of the seafood has a tinge of sweetness, using the stronger flavoured black garlic, it complements ideally as a whole. You can watch the video to find out how the chef handled the razor bamboo so well that it doesn't contain any sand residues inside.

One of the old classics that I like is the ‘Teochew' style braised pork belly with crispy shredded yam. I don’t usually take fatty meat so as to maintain my body fitness, but I can’t resist on this one. The thickness of the lean and fat is perfect with the sauce locked in the meat is absolutely delicious! I have eaten more than what I should, guess I have to run a few more rounds to burn off the excess calories.

As all the seafood are live from the tanks, the marble goby in clay pot style old sixties golden stock is a must try. One of their signatures, the stock is made up of several premium quality ingredients boiled for 8 hours to create this bright colour. The taste is priceless, it has a complicated blend of savoury and natural sweetness that lingers on your tastebuds long enough before you take another spoonful.

Exploring the uniqueness of Hinoki Wood #Singapore Blogger

When I was first invited to Akari Dining & Bar for food tasting, I thought it was the usual Japanese restaurant that serves the normal sushi, sashimi and ramen which you can find almost everywhere. To my surprise it wasn’t that simple. The restaurant offers both traditional and contemporary dishes with a twist, what makes it different from the other places that I have tried are the little details and creativity input in each of the dish.

The Japanese braised yam-jelly with starch and original yuzu flavor miso paste is served in the Hinoki wood which produces a strong fragrance. I particularly liked this dish is because it has a unique scent and the combination of the soup makes it so good.  Traditional Japanese fishcakes and yam-jelly are slightly blend, it is best eaten with their tasty miso-paste that makes it more flavoursome.

Singapore Food Blogger

For my preference, I would recommend having a lobster dish to be steamed or grilled to taste the original freshness of the seafood, Akari did neither but it still taste as good. Why do I say that? Although it is pan-fried, it is not fried till dry but just perfect. An ideal texture of the lobster still retains with the meat tender and moist, the stock is sweet and savory using several lobster heads boiled for long hours.

Another highlight is the chopped mixed sashimi over-float on rolled sushi. Every mouthful contains a burst of different flavours. You can literally taste the mixture of fresh swordfish, tuna, salmon, salmon and various rolls such as crabmeat and avocado. A great choice for people who doesn’t eat sashimi in slices as it is served in cubes.

你知道哪里可以吃到由中医博士调制的火锅料理吗?Singapore Blogger

As a blogger, there are 3 principles that I have set.

As a blogger, there are 3 principles that I have set. Firstly, if a restaurant did not do well in terms of food or service I will not share and criticise in my blog or Youtube channel immediately because I think it is not fair for them. Although I have eaten at many different places, it doesn't mean that I am the best.
Secondly, I will talk to the restaurant first and ask if they are really sincere to improve and whether they want to make a change, if they are, I will recommend some of the chefs or managers whom I know of from other restaurants doing the same cuisine to share their experience. It is my wish to extend my help for the weaker restaurants to do better. It mainly depends on their attitude and willingness to learn. I hope to see them grow after receiving advises from the professionals.
Thirdly, although I was invited for food tasting in all my recommendations, I also thought that it is mandatory to taste the food for a complete dining experience. Additionally, I make sure these restaurants are good enough before sharing them out. I will not recommend if it is not up to standard.

Cheesecake Lovers Alert #Singapore Blogger

I have always been supportive towards our local brands especially if you are talking about food. There is one which I particularly like, and as a lifestyle blogger I would want to share it in my blog, it is called Cat & the Fiddle, even the name itself sounds pretty fun and easy to remember.

Founded by Daniel Tay a well-known local dessert chef, it is the first online specialist cheesecake store in Singapore. What I liked about them is that they offer delicious and quality cheesecakes at affordable prices. There are also a wide selections of flavours to choose from and all of them are uniquely designed. I have first tasted Fickle Feline and I must say it is quite impressive, it comprises of 10 distinctive slices of flavours which you can enjoy a different bite without getting bored. The cheesecakes are really good, it is smooth, rich, thick and creamy. Everything is just nice, the cheesy fragrance is still retained at the right amount. You can find cheesecakes almost everywhere in Singapore, however Cat & the Fiddle offers a lot more interesting choices and it is just so convenient to purchase! You can actually collect the cheesecakes yourself at their office or opt for delivery. They also allow customisation to suit any of your parties or events.

Drink, drank and drunk with 2 crazy bloggers #Part 1

Today was well spent with the two ‘crazy’ food bloggers Moon Wong and Alison Chan, we relished on delectable food and played an intense guessing game. Both are them are well known Singapore food bloggers, it is always exciting to be with them during our food hunting programs to search for the best dining places in Singapore.

This time round food blogger Moon Wong wanted to get a few round of drinks so we had a talk with the producer also known as “小绵羊” (little sheep) to play a drinking game. She suggested that we have to taste the bbq dishes with our eyes covered and guess the type of dish. If any of us did not guess it correctly has to drink, unless we can elaborate well on the taste.

We had a really fun session and were already semi-drunk but Moon Wong still insist on having the specialty steamboat soup as it is designed by a Chinese physician and has several health benefits. People call her the soup princess because she loves soup and has a talent in identifying the ingredients used in different soup. After satisfying her soup cravings, Moon finally agreed to go back. It is always enjoyable with the two food bloggers, as usual we had a hearty meal and a good laugh.

Singapore Blogger
