Seafood freshness from the sea #Singapore Blogger

The word ‘Tekong’ may sound familiar to us Singaporeans especially the army boys who once served the national service. Tekong is actually the short form of the island name Pulau Tekong. Located at Changi, Tekong Seafood restaurant comes about mainly because it is near the island. Offering Chinese and seafood cuisine, the freshness of the seafood are beyond comparison as they are directly caught from the sea and supplied to the restaurant.

I tried some of the signature classic dishes there such as the Poach Prawn, they are sea prawns not farmed prawns, you can imagine how fresh it that? I chose to order this because it is steamed, one of the best that carries a natural freshness and sweetness.

Manis vegetables is actually quite difficult to cook it right if you don’t handle the preparation method well. Many of you might not know that there is a hint of poison in the vegetable which the chef require a lot of strength to rub it off. Once the green liquid are squeezed out, it is safe to consume and can be considered a delicious delicacy.

This looks like ‘bee hoon’ but it is actually fried vermicelli. The noodles are stir-fried seamlessly with various seafood ingredients, although it is a simple dish but you will never get tired of the taste because it is just so good and the fragrance is irresistible.
